About Get Me A Plumber
Get Me A Plumber is an independent publishing project focused on one thing: what plumbing actually costs, explained plainly.
Plumbing is where homeowners get quoted blind. A drain cleaning can be $95 or $825. A repipe quote can land anywhere from $4,000 to $15,000 — for the same house. The information gap between the person holding the wrench and the person holding the checkbook is where the money leaks out, and our guides exist to close it with specific numbers, honest comparisons, and practical checklists.
We're also building a find-a-plumber directory on this same domain: flat subscriptions for licensed plumbers, verified listings, and no leads resold to a crowd of competitors. It launches city by city, only where real plumbers and real traffic exist.
About the author
Dan Reeves is a licensed master plumber with 20 years in residential plumbing. He started as an apprentice running a drain machine, worked his way up to master, and has since repiped, unclogged, and re-heated more than 4,000 homes — from galvanized ranch houses in Ohio to slab-on-grade builds in Texas. He writes the way he talks on a job: straight numbers, honest verdicts, and he'll always tell you which jobs to DIY and which ones to leave to a licensed pro.
Dan is the editorial voice of this site. He doesn't take commissions from plumbers, manufacturers, or marketplaces, and no plumber can pay to be recommended here.
How we make money
Get Me A Plumber is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense). When the directory opens, plumbers will pay flat subscription fees for enhanced listings — clearly badged as Featured or Verified Pro. We don't publish sponsored content disguised as guides, and advertisers and subscribers don't influence what we write.
Editorial standards
- Every cost guide is researched from current US pricing, plumber rate data, and manufacturer documentation.
- We update cost figures as markets move, and we date every guide.
- Where safety is involved — gas, sewer gas, scalding, electricity near water — we say so clearly, and tell you when to call a professional.
- Our content is informational. It is not a substitute for an on-site assessment of your home by a licensed plumber.
